I doubt Martin is going to find any groups on Politics or Religion at Devx.Com.

The UT is not really a newsgroup per se. You should contact your local ISP and see what the name of their newsgroup server is and use something like Outlook Express to access it. My ISP subscribes to over 40000 newsgroups, YMMV, so there is a strong possilibilty of having something you want.
