Jim,

I agree $100 isn't that much....

>>- I'll have to travel for about 4 hours to the examination class

>I don't know what the testing center situation is in your country but here in the US and Canada there are testing centers all over the place.

Well, I believe there are two here in Holland, (though, i'm not sure). With all the trafic jams here (especially arround amsterdam, 4 hours of travel time would not be unlikely)

>>- I'll have to wait weeks before I get the results

>The MS MCP exams give you the results at the compeletion of the exam right there immediately.

Yes, craig, already mentioned.

>>- I can't do whenever I want

>You should be able to schedule the exam any time you like.

Without making an appointment at lease weeks at forehand and even in a weekend ?

>I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. My opinion is that an exam of the likes of this one is more harm than good to the overall impression of VFP in the world.

IMO the world's impression of VFP is bad already. How can it get worse ?

>Anyone who takes this exam and believes that it demonstrates any level of competency in VFP at all is sadly mistaken. Not only would the use of this exam on a resume not cause me to consider a candidate for a job any higher than anyone else, the simple fact that they included it on their resume would cause me to move them to the bottom of the list of candidates.

I do not consider this test as one that should be applied to any resume. However I like the concept and expect to see some development in this area.

B.T.W. I saw you would be in EDE at the CTTM the 1st of may. I'll hope your
presentation will go well. Sadly I'll not be there, since I'm not a SGDN member and have other appointments at the 2nd of may. The overal cost of arround the $600 plus a membership of SGDN was simply too much to join the other day.

OTOH an college will be there, I'll ask him how things went, Good luck.

Walter,
