I think it's a case of 'good programming' rather than 'will it or will it not work'. By the same token, VFP doesn't care about naming conventions, yet it's still considered standard programming practice to use Hungarian notation and definition when writing code, and that also includes other languages.
If everybody adhered to the same rules and guidelines, programming would be far simpler, especially when maintaining legacy code.
This is not a sleight; think of it more as positive suggestion !!
