No, I meant the comparably-sized applications (to my vfp apps) done in-house using PB/Sybase that are slow and have design problems, not the Peoplesoft app. Agreed, Peoplesoft is in a different league.

The problem with Peoplesoft can be seen very quickly when first using it. It's a *generic* financial application framework, custom-fit to individual environments. As such, it is very difficult to produce a good interface for many individual environments, even though the basic DB works and the performance seems quite good. And (a very important factor) it can be implemented very quickly as opposed to a totally new system.

But it's buggy, and has a lot of features that are disabled, nonsensical, or don't work properly, etc., because it's a generic app. It's a trade-off.
