Title:
VFP drivers for MS Access97 - ODBC?
I am having trouble getting VFP DBF files to Link using Microsoft Access97. Is this because Access is assuming Fox2 files instead of VFP? Do I have to do something special to link VFP-style dbf files into Access97?
I downloaded what I think is an ODBC driver for VFP from Microsoft:
"VFP6INT.EXE contains the Visual FoxPro 6.0 ODBC
Driver resource file, FoxPro.int. This file does
not ship with the latest version of the ODBC driver,
but it is required by the driver. You should copy
this file to your Windows\System or WinNT\System32 directory."
I copied FoxPro.int into c:\windows\system and my Links still say invalid operation.
I worry that the inf file that the Access link file wizard makes expects old Fox2 files, for example, here's the arcust01.inf file for arcust01.dbf:
[FoxPro 2.0]
MDX1=E:\Sbt\CWADATA\ARCUST01.CDX
[UIDX1 COMPANY]
MDX1=E:\Sbt\CWADATA\ARCUST01.CDX
I realize this question is as much Access as Foxpro, but I appreciate the help all the same.
Thanks for advice and suggestions,
Sylvia
