I am doing something similar. I have an auto-import that must read from spreadsheets from
various Excel sheets from versions of Excel, each having similar complex formulae that cannot be disturbed.

I have used the automation methodology with some success. However recently I had to test
an extension. The client added columns to the SS, and now the excel server seems to be hanging
at a point in the process roughly proportional to the amount of additional cells processed.

I started out with10 cols, 6000 rows. Each cell is requested individually by VFP and processed as
needed. This works well without issue. When the collumns are increased to 12, by copying
two existing columns over to the right and re-run the process, the Excel Server is hangs somewhere
after passing row 5500.

But if I go back to the original file, it runs fine, processing all 6004 rows.
