>>>In Boston, a contractor can get anywhere from $45 to $125/hr, depending on the complexity of the project and how well the contractor can support the project.
>>>Generally, if you're on your own, then $45 to $60 is the norm. If you can provide a team of programmers and promise decent response to tech support calls, then you're talking in the $75 to $110 range. Also keep in mind that as a contractor, you only charge for the time you actually spend working. Lunch, other breaks, phone calls to other clients, personal phone calls are on your dime.
>>>
>>>I would assume that San Antonio would be about 15 to 25% less. But I'm guessing. Boston is one of the more expensive places.

Hi Jeff - I would not consider a career change because you are makeing $20.00
an hour. You might want to consider a pay raise, if not there, there are
other places that will read your resume. Universitys are not known for their
high paying positions. You can always write your own software, just look at
the trade magazines and get some ideas. thanks..rob
