In "power saving" mode a lot of PCs shut off power to the network card. When the network server pings the WS to see if it's still alive, it doesn't get a response, so it kills the connection.
This may also happen with some notebook PCs when they go into suspend or sleep mode.
I have yet to see a desktop PC with what I would consider a solid implementation of power saving. If I ever service one with it enabled, I disable it. The pennies saved are not worth the intermittent aggravation.
