A couple suggestions to check out and try ...

Do you have 'Constant Band Height' checked for the detail band?

Temporarily, make your detail band larger to see if you have an extra field positioned beyond the length of the band.

Also try using CTRL-A to select All to see if something that might be too tiny to see will appear selected. If so, deleted it.
