Thanks Gil and Michael,
The view exists as part of the database. What I wanted to do was change its sql statement before it was instanciated.
I don't know why, but I have a hunch that since you can create views programmatically you should be able to also change their properties through code.
This would be great if I have for example a restaurant form where guests fill their orders.
The form has three buttons (apetizer, main course, desert). When the user clicks on apetizer a form comes up with a grid listing all apetizers. User selects one and goes back to "meal" form. Then clicks Maincourse button, another grid pops up and so on.
The form that holds the pop-up grid could be just ONE form to which an sql parameter is passed when the user clicks a button (select * from desertstable, select * from apetizerstable, etc.).
That's pretty much why I was asking.
Thanks to both!!!!
