Of course, FIRST we tried just re-installing VFP, and found the Active-X didn't re-install correctly. Now, of course, he can't use his FirstAid program at all.

I don't have an answer, but you are right about activeX and OCX's. I've seen problem reports because someone had a good app running fine and then the user installed Office 97 and blew up the ComCtrl32.ocx stuff in the VFP app becuase of the version change. The new one installed with different license numbers and the VFP app couldn't use it because the license was wrong.
