Tamar certainly has the right not to respond to my inquires. However, it looks pretty bad when she responds to some things and not others. As far as the survey goes, I think it is a waste. For one thing, it is too long. The folks at Advisor know perfectly well what it is they have to do. I spent the better part of 2 months charting out strategy with them. Remember the surveys I posted up here on the UT. I think the folks that responded represented a good cross-section of the FPA readership...

As a subscriber, you have the right to know when a magazine is serious about change. I, by far, have been the most critical of the magazine. In the begining, they (Advisor) appeared to embrace my call for change. However, it quickly became clear to me that bringing me in the fold was nothing more than an attempt to put a muzzle on me. The assumption of course is that if I am part of the team, I want say anything against the team. Boy, did they have me figured wrong.

Now that I have resigned, it is a whole different story. All of a sudden, Advisor cannot be concerned with my commentary, no matter how on target it is. Why is that? If it is, as you say, because I am pissing a few people off, don't you think they should be above that? I mean, if the magazine is really concerned about acting in the best interest of it's readership, it would look past our personal differences and respond to my inquires. At the very least, they would post the comments on the website, like they did a few months ago.

Despite what Tamar has done to me personally, and yes, she underminded my positon at Advisor. She did everything in her power to convince Advisor to not select me as a Technical Editor. I can tell you honestly, this issue is not about personalities. This issue is about the repeated failures of FPA.

Forget for a moment that I may be pissing somebody off. Look at Miriam's article and look at my comments. Ask yourself who in the hell is editing the work at Advisor? This crap has been going on for too many months. And, like you, most people beleive that FPA has to step it up a few notches.

Again, it is not an issue of personalities. I am trying to stick to the facts. And yes, I am pressing Tamar for some sort of comment. If she makes no comment, she has done nothing but make my point. If she does comment, she can explain how the crap gets through....
