>Why is M-ess (aka M$, Microsoft) in love with the m. prefix in their samples? It's everywhere even still in samples with version 6. Just curious if anyone knew
This is just a little add-on. If you have the field "name" in the current workarea, and a variable "name", the only way to get the variable value (because VFP grabs the field) is "m.name".
The add-on is that there is reasoning against hungarian notation around, and just to make sure nothing gets broken somewhere, always use "m."
Actually, I never use "m." and always use hungarian, but the FT article "A cRose by any other oName" by Charlie Schriener talks about some of these things.
