Hi Barbara,

I betray my philosophy that quicker, easier and less expensive is better by using WDS' equipment. I like both the batch and rf units, they're inexpensive, relatively easy to use and support, especially the batch units and the voice prompt feature is a user-pleaser. In the days when you had to write a collection routine in c and load it into a Symbol 3000 series with the ADK, the simplicity of programming WDS made it a hands down winner. Now that MCL is out and apparently working, that differential advantage may no longer exist or be as great. The WDS units are a bit klunky compared to the sleek design of STI's stuff but they still have price and the voice prompt. Frankly, I wish they'd smooth out their physical desing some but, I'm sure they know how to run their biz.

Data collection has not been a big part of my biz. I picked it up to add to my ability to provide a more complete solution. For you to implement an rf solution in the bad old days of DOS/WIN16, you must be a heck of a programmer! I've done batch solutions in FPD/FPW but no rf. As you can see by the thread, I've reworked the WDS VB routine and used it for my rf work. But now thanks to Todd and the ut, I can add it to my VFp toolbench.

Good to hear from you.

Regards.

Mike
