What one chooses to do on his/her own or what one chooses to believe is his/her business. However, when it is brought into a public forum, that is when it is open to debate.
I think it is safe to say that all of use engage in R & D to one degree or another. However, when it comes to sessions at technical conferences, most folks want info they can use today. Further, most folks want that info presented in a practical manner...
