Hi Everybody!
Last month, we went to Hawaii for one of our more exotic conferences: The Double Impact Mega Event on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.
For 5 days, we brought the world of Visual FoxPro to the tropical paradise, and tortured developers by presenting topics that were so interesting, they wouldn't even take time off and go to the beach... :-)
The conference focused on Visual FoxPro and Windows DNA, Internet Applications, Object Oriented Development and Distributed Computing.
Among the speakers were Doug Hennig, Randy Brown, Yair Alan Griver as well as Rick Strahl and myself.
Randy gave a preview of Visual FoxPro 7.0 at the keynote which was way more extensive than any previous Visual FoxPro 7.0 demonstration. Previously unannounced features include enhancements in the menu system as well as new language and COM features. (We are not telling more here. Come to the New Orleans conference to see the most complete preview of VFP7 yet... ;-)
We also
published some pictures from the event as well as some of the side events (
hula-girls included!!! :-) on the Double Impact web site (
Http://www.eps-software.com/doubleimpact/) (scroll to the bottom for the link...).
For those of you who missed it: There is another Double Impact Event (2 or 3 days) right after the VFP DevCon in New Orleans. More details can also be found on the Double Impact web page...
