Having trouble with Active-x Progress bars loosing 3-D effect or don't appear at all.

Form 1 is displayed (modeless)
Form 2 is displayed (modal, show(1)), user responds, Form 2 is released
Form 1 is released
Form 3 is displayed with bad progress bars

If either form 1 or form 2 are not displayed, progress bars are ok.
I've tried various combinations of AlwaysOnTop,WindowType
Any suggestions where else to look ?
