>You must specify at installation whemther the server is going to be a domain controller (primary or backup). AFAIK, it can not be converted after the fact. You will have to reinstall NT.

The only exception here is that a BDC can be 'promoted' to a PDC if the PDC fails, but in this case, creating a new domain and PDC, reinstallation is necessary.
