>Interesting... What then was FoxTalk's involvement? The FoxTalk masthead prominently displayed next to the description of what the awards are supposed to represent. I gather that FoxTalk's/Pinnacle's participation was from a sponsorship standpoint only.

The best I can liken it to is a car company advertising on a TV show. They really have nothing to do with the content of the TV show itself. The voiceover says, "Three Yuppies In A Loft is brought to you by Chevrolet", but in the show, everyone is driving BMWs and Volvos. *s*

>This scenario contrasts greatly with with the SQL show. SQL Magazine took an active role in that their senior technical editor is judging the awards. Further, companies had an opportunity to enter their products. I wonder why the same setup was not used for the VFP Show?

I have no idea. I've never been contacted by anyone associated with the show (I think they _meant_ to, and that's why Barry thinks I was invited to judge or present or something), but no one's ever talked to me. (I think this was one of those "'Mary, I thought _you_ made reservations at the Inn', says Joseph" things) In fact, their communication with Pinnacle, as best as I can tell (since I don't work out of the Pinnacle offices), has been pretty minimal.

>With all of this in mind, will Pinnacle pull away from sponsoring the awards? Will Pinnacle call for the awards to be cancelled???

Hard to say. Not my call. I just solicit, edit and turn down articles... *s*.
