AFAIK you can not add properties and methods to the base classes (except form), only to subclasses. Am I wrong???

>It is always better to create a subclass when your extending the functionality of a component, but if you don't feel comfortable with subclassing you can use the base classes. You'll just have to add the highlighting code to each instance.
