It reduces the language implementation dependent issues, gives an interactive process development and testing mode, and does not require you to learn all the detailed requirements for communications programming. Licensing is straightforward - the client purchases the required product, and the comm product vendor can provide knowledgable support where issues that may not be familiar to you.

YMMV - I wrote a considerable amount of communications programs in the past, and even with a library, you really have a need to understand a pretty significant amount of technology.

Hi Ed,

Thank for your advise. Actually, our present application are
using PCAnywhere for the communicate/transfer of file. Our application
had to create the script file on the fly before activating PCAnywhere.

However, it increase our cost and does not give us much control over it. Therefore, we are studying/considering whether to come out with our own commmunication (with third party ActiveX library)
program to interface with our application or use third party application
like PCAnywhere/Procomm.

We just required simple dialup and transfer to file to and from only.

If you recommend to use a third party, which one do your strongly refer ,why ?
Best Regards
Virusim
