I agree, a parameterized view would be best here, and that's what I initially used. I ran into an odd "ghosting" problem with it, though: even after it was closed, given a new parameter and requeried, users reported that it occasionally returned data from the previous parameter. Unable to figure this out (or even reproduce the error) I abandoned the view.

I did use the STR() of the FK in the RelationalExpr, but it made no difference.
