Hey, I like to have fun just as much as the next guy. I think it is great that we can give the users lots of choices. Why does all of this have to come at the expense of reliability?
All of this learning fun is taking up more and more of my time and reducing the number of billable hours I get over time. The reliability issue hurts because I often charge a fixed price for the delivery of a working system. How do I explain to a non technical user that it is not my fault.
Maybe the days of the independant software developer are over. Maybe I should become part of a larger shop with a VB expert, SQL server expert and others.
