You used to be able to use the & operator in the header to reference a variable.
For example:
Put &Myheader as Rdi_hdr1 of the data items table
When you run the report, make sure &Myheader has the character string value you want (Like "Total Sales").
This works in FoxFire for FP2.6, I don't know if it still works for VFP, but it should.
