Actually, there is a grass sort of like this: Kentucky Long 31 Fescue (I think). It does well in partial shade (a consideration for me, since we're surrounded by trees), doesn't grow real fast, stays green, and is pretty hardy. The problem with it is that it doesn't spread (to some this may be a benefit< g >). It's pretty easy to plant (just till, spread and rake over. No straw). It grows thick and keeps weeds out. Now if I could just get my yard tilled....:-)
