>>>George,

>>>Every time I mow my lawn I think to myself that if there was ever a golden opportunity for some company to make money it would be in this area. Think about this idea... Spend some serious $$ and hire a genetic engineering lab (you could probably do this at a university somewhere) and develop a grass that a) stays green, b) is hardy and c) has a real slow growth cycle.

>>Actually, there is a grass sort of like this: Kentucky Long 31 Fescue (I think). It does well in partial shade (a consideration for me, since we're surrounded by trees), doesn't grow real fast, stays green, and is pretty hardy. The problem with it is that it doesn't spread (to some this may be a benefit< g >). It's pretty easy to plant (just till, spread and rake over. No straw). It grows thick and keeps weeds out. Now if I could just get my yard tilled....:-)

Thought of that one.< g > Unfortunately, since I live within the city limits, no farm animals. (He wonders if he could get a zoning exception...)
