I'm dealing with local views, and, knock on wood!, it looks like it works now.

The thing that I last did, was to copy the DBC along with the off line view tables every time I downloaded a record set.

I did not do this originally because I had only one form for files download and for subset selection (setting the view parameters), and that required the DBC to be open, so I could not copy it. Now, I changed the design to copy all files after exiting the form that creates the offline tables. I don’t like the new user interface, because it presents two sets of messages for something that is one process, but I can’t think of anything better for the moment.

Copying the DBC only once on each laptop, seemed to work (i.e. I could open and modify the off line records), but uploading of data failed most of the time with index, or inconsistency, or 1547 errors...
