Two answers. First, to show spaces in a UT Message use the < pre > and < /pre > tags (remove the spaces inside the brackets). Here's an example:

10 spaces before this line

10 spaces before THIS one also but enclosed in PRE tags.

Right-click on the message and look at View Source to see how this works.

Second, I imagine that when you weren't using Courier New in your editbox you picked a proportional font like Arial. With proportional fonts each letter is a different width so the same number of 'spaces' or 'letters' will give different widths.

Look for non-proportional fonts to display your text aligned as you wish it.
