>Yes you can. Assuming that you use a foundation READ, you can add the TIMEOUT nSec and VALID clause to emulate a timer. If the valid clause returns .F. the 'timer' is re-set.

Thank very much for the idea. I used it and it worked great. I put a valid in the read the checked readkey() for values returned by the timeout clause. If those values were from the timeout (20 and 276) I simply refresh the screen, if not I exit. It was a great idea thanks.
