Whil Hentzen spoke at our user group last month and suggested Satellite Forms as a good tool.

The overview is:
Build an app with the SatForms tool.
Use the HotSync ActiveX control on a VFP form to control copying the app, and any tables (in DB5 format) to the Palm.
Run a VFP app as a service so anytime the Palm is in its cradle it can raise an event to sync up.
It's your responsibility to tend to any relational dbs.
Keep it simple.
