I would like the set the procedures as follow; the program works fine for a couple of days, after the evaluation period a user has to fill in a key. They can get their key by calling their distributor, give the distributor a key shown in a window and they will receive the registration key from the distributor.

Janneke,
I saw a fairly simple example of this. The installation routine made the necessary registry entries to make the program work and it also created two other registry entries that it didn't log. They were under some obscure keys in the registry. One held the datetime when the program would expire. The other held a flag that determined if the program had ever expired. Every time the program ran, it would check these entries. The registration routine would reset the expiration flag and set the datetime to sometime in the next millenium.
