That was the 6502 chip, and I think (if it was the same as the Atari) it was 1.77 Mhz. However, there's a difference between that chip and the Intel 8088/8086 in the clock phases. One's single phase, the other a two phase. I can't remember which was which, but the bottom line was that 1.77 mhz 6502 was slightly more than half as fast as a similarly rated 8088/8086.
