What about the folks that continually dis-obey the rules regarding the opening of suspect attachments. Regardless of whether these rules are expressed orally or in writing, the rule of common sense has to prevail.

A good analogy....

Somebody commits murder with a gun. Who do you convict? The gun manufacturer or the person who pulled the trigger?

The point is, most folks have nobody to blame but themselves. The issue we are dealing with is more symtomatic of a bigger issue. All to often, I get EXE attachments that are animimated cartoons, etc. All of these could actually be virus files in disguise. The key is to ignore this stuff, no matter how harmless it appears to be..

Back to the common sense argument. This "love bug" virus was not cloaked all that well. The subject alone was cause to be wary. The bottom line, folks should not better..

All of that said, if you wan't to go out an apply a bamboo cane to the buttocks of the virus author, you cannot turn a blind eye to the folks that blindly pass these virus files on. In many ways, they are just as accountable. For sure, a definitve cause-effect relationship exists...
