It might be related to the faster PC. Some clipper apps also choke on anything faster than a PII. You might want to run a search on "fast pc crash" or "fast pc error".

In clipper the problem was related to a timing loop that some programs run at init to "gauge" the cpu speed. PII's are so fast compared with what was available when clipper was last released that in some cases this produces a div by zero error.
