VFP requires Admin login on Novell
Novell 4.11 (IWSB) using 3.1 SP2 Client32, all clients are Windows 98se.
This is not my application, so I can't be specific about the code.
I have created a seperate folder on the server for the application and it's subdirectories. Mapped the directory as a root directory, provide rights including supervisor.
There are ancilliary directories used to import and export (from another, not VFP, app to Quickbooks). I have also provide supervisor rights to these directories.
Yet, unless all users log in as Admin, files are corrupted or data is lost.
Since most of my sites are Netware, before I start my own VFP project, I'd love to know what's happening here.
I read Michael Fournier's White Paper on Novell Netware Security, but it doesn't cover specific's.
I'm relatively certain this is not a "cache" or memory problem, since just logging in as Admin does not change Server Settings or cache values. For the same reason I don't suspect the Novell Client (although I haven't tested the application using the Microsoft Client, which I would prefer not to use).
Any thoughts on where to look will be appreciated. I can get in touch with the developer through the client if neccessary.
