click on the grid. right click and select edit
click on the column (not the header) ans make sure in the property window you are on the correct column (we wouldn't want to delete the wrong one, wouldwe), select the text1 control in the propert combo box, click in the title bar of the form window and press the delete key.

Please try it on a simple test form, so you don't get upset with me if it won't work the first time :-)
