I think that's part of why you have to understand the topic to make a decision. I totally agree with your statement. Although, people not too computer literate are more likely to buy into MS not developing for other operating systems as evidence of a monopoly.

Witness not just MS not offering development languages for the MAC, but pretty much everyone else also.
