Just in case you're not convinced yet, he came into my office with a real big problem a little while ago. He can't check his personal bank balance thru the internet since we cleaned up the virus on his computer. Need I say anymore?

PF

>It's obvious what he does. He's there to tell the boss everything that's going on with everyone else. You know, keep an eye on those weird IT types cause who knows what they are up to. You should be nice to him for more reasons than keeping the M&M's within everyones grasp. He holds your job in his hands. P.S. If you ever have any job openings don't tell me unless the moron isn't working there anymore!
>
>>Middle aged is not a factor, but I'd be willing to bet that his being a moron factored into his divorce.
>>
>>The guy has been here 6 months and I still haven't figured out what he does. Neither has anyone else I work with, except for the owner. He defends the guy for whatever reason.
>>
>>He tries to act very forceful when talking to other employees besides the owners. To them he brown-noses to the extreme. ITs obvious to them also. The one thing hes done since he's been here is to buy a bunch of M&M dispensers and keep them filled. I found out though that he's expensing the stuff. You can tell when he's mad at you because he takes the dispensers away, back into his office.
>>
>>Personally, I not too young myself, and have several older friends. Trust me, if you had to deal with this guy on a daily basis, you'd probably have your own set of names for him.

>>>Is the fact this person is middle aged and divorced two of the factors making him a moron? I happen to like being middle aged and absolutely LOVE being divorced from my ex. Also, there are a couple of vendors I wish would send me a love/lust letter! Does this make me a moron? Are you a young whipper-snapper? BTW, I didn't open it but did have source code on the server that was affected.

>>>>How would you fix the problem at companies that had so many people open the email, that they'll be lucky to have email restored by today.
>>>>
>>>>I'm working at a small company now. Under 15 people. We have 1 absolute moron, absolutely worthless, etc. He's a middle aged divorced guy, and actually thought 1 of our vendors was sending him a love letter. I would have liked for nothing better than for this to be an excuse to fire the guy. But no go.
>>>>
>>>>At the last company I worked at, over 500 people, quite a few people opened it. As at a lot of companies, I had a buddy with over 150 emails in his inbox. You may term all these people morons, but the fact of the matter is that probably 10% opened it.

The folks that got bit by this, are morons... They will do anything regardless of the consequences, despite all of the warnings I/T folks give them.
