George,

Thanks. Yeah, I've checked out this article before, but thanks for re-referring me to it, because I did pick up on something this time that I had not done so before.

Unless the sample code that was generously provided by Mr. Fabiani was specifically for Outlook 2000 (because of certain UPDATES between 98 and 2000?), it does not work ... at least, not in 98. There is no "Explorers" member of the APPLICATION object. Yes, I have been able to access the "Explorer" member of the OUTLOOK object, but it has no [in THIS case appropriate] methods (such as "Open" or "Add") associated with it. The .Add statement in the previously-mentioned sample code (similar to Items.Add or Folders.Add) suggested that there would be a similar "Explorers", but there is not.

For anyone who MAY be having a similar problem as me:
I did find the following statement in Mindy Martin's article which sheds some light on the exact nature of the problem, and may unfortunately end up providing the only solution to it (unless someone out there still has a better idea :] ) ----

"As opposed to other Office 97 applications, Outlook does not have any events associated with the Application object. All events in Outlook are centered on the Outlook form, which is used to display item data. However, you can simulate an application's Open and Quit events if you are automating Outlook from Access or Visual Basic by wrapping a class module around an instance of Outlook."

Thanks George. Thanks ALL. If anyone has any further insight, I'd love to hear what you think.
