The reason I'm asking is that very often when I am working on a project, I like to build an exe, and test anything there and then.

If my DB is under SC, it isn't allowing a) the EXE to be built and b)me to insert records into any of the tables.

It's possible I'm doing something wrong, you sound like you know VSS well.

I have followed the MS Knowledge base instructions (Q157636) HOWTO: Set Up Source Code Control with Visual Sourcesafe.

Do you recommend these instructions, or could you perhaps give me some pointers.
