There are several tools available to you to do this - my preference is to use the Wscript.Shell automation object's CreateShortcut method (you have to install the WSH on each target machine, which I do IAC) or you can use a wrapper .DLL like George Tasker's LNKFILES.DLL, available in the Files Section here on UT. The Wscript.Shell object is pretty fully documented - see the various WSH sites in my signature block for more details.
