Another thing:

There may be some ODBC drivers on the market by
Simba Technologies which are asynchronous i.e. multithreaded.
They are very,very expensive.

Last time I contacted them are asynchronous was under development.

Try looking at all vendors of ODBC drivers and see if any offer asynchronous
now last time I checked they didn't.
