>I keep thinking back to one of your earlier posts, where you said that by logging into an NT box under a certain account, you did NOT get the ISO errors. That really sounds like a permissions issue.

Get an opinion on your current structure. You could also get a test machine set up with a different structure if that may be more "industry-standard".

To answer the last Q first, no, nothing like that.

Yes, the account is jerry-rigged to account for users using both Win9x and NT. The NT accounts are set up by creating a sort of dummy local account, and then "adding" the main domain account to the local account. I agree this is somehow related to the problem. Why it only shows up in a very large app, and never in smaller apps or in vfp directly is the biggest question, though, if it is an account/permissions-related problem.

The only difference is that this app is 5MB, and uses a lot of memory + many DBCs/tables/views/cursors simultaneously. The app did run fine when I first had only the local account, though it was pain to use, I could not access anything beyond my servers. Also, the app ran fine for about two months even with the new configuration, until suddenly becoming error-prone again. Even a fresh NT install did not fix it.

It *could* be related to SMS somehow, possibly. I think maybe this machine did not have SMS installed when the app was working. That thought just now struck me. Hmm...

I have tried asking for an NT domain account, but have not been granted one as of yet. That might solve it too, but again, any fix that is non-standard will not be easy to get through LAN and their plans.

Also, these are 64MB machines. I have a free 128 now, I think I'll request a new NT install, see if that helps...before I ask for money to hire an NT guru. That kind of spending requires major paperwork & approval. And what I really need is an NT guru familiar with vfp, not an easy person to find :)
