Once they capture the market, it is the job of regulators to make sure they don't start exercising monopoly power by cutting back production to raise prices. MS is not doing this! If MS can produce software more efficiently then anyone else, let them do so and everyone is better off.

What you are talking about here is economies of scale. And it is a desireable thing to achieve. There is nothing wrong with it. Where companies get into trouble is when they begin to abuse the power they amass. Gaining EOS by itself should not be a call for regulation. I am a fan of smaller - not bigger government...

Well, I am not sure how many people they make happy.. There are a lot of unhappy folks out there. I for one, am not thrilled by the lack of quality that has spewed out of Redmond for quite some time. Quality is definitely something that has taken a hit over the years...
