Title:
Remote views 'not efficient'???
I have the DBA of a SQL Server for one of my clients telling me that using VFP remote views for updating the database is 'not efficient'. He claims that the SQL passed back from VFP is inefficient (I assume he means not optimized).
Can anyone shed some light? I don't understand how scanning through a cursor and using SQL pass-through to insert or update records is any more efficient than whatever VFP is sending back. I would dearly love to use remote views since I am in the process of converting a old FP for DOS application for them and the table names and fields are for the most part staying the same.
Thanks
