Our "rival" department application, done in PB/Sybase, about the same size as my vfp app, was stress tested yesterday after complaints about performance, by adding new users one at a time. I watched (well, we actually sat around and chatted for awhile) the 15th user log into the app. It took over 13 minutes for the opening screen to appear. This is with a new Sun server, and a fast network. This has got to be the slowest app ever created, and there's hardly even any data in the DB...
It's supposed to handle up to 50 simul-users. Let me see, projecting from the recorded logon times, user #50 would take how long to logon...hmmm - about several years?
