Your question has been discussed here several times, and with a lot of opinions (try to find a title like this: "Remote views VS SPT statements"... something like that). You'll "kill" all your questions.
I still use remote views, besides all the opinions against. See John Peterson's opinions (very interesting). But, i only use remote views to data that must be changed directly by the user on the form. For the other kind of operations i use SQLEXEC() funtion.
