Thats like saying if I move the app, the shortcuts don't work, or in real life, if my friends move to a new home and don't tell me where they live, they don't get my letters.

I say its the users fault for moving around files they have no business with.

What you could do though, is after you open your DBC at teh beginning of the app, check to see if its actually open, then give them an "Access Denied" error or "Database does not exist" if you'd like.
