Would you not agree that Java is the programming language of the web and therefore the programming language of the future? Yes VB has a presence in the web development market but it pales in comparison to Java's. VFP has very little if any presence in the web development market and certainly very little marketability as a web development tool/language.

I guess you're saying there's a shift in this movement. I hope you're right. I know that my company owns software written in VFP, PB/Oracle and VB but they're looking at their next generation web suite as a Java solution. All non-Java web development is in VB but is not being touted as next generation nor will it be promoted as such. The VFP and PB apps are either being converted to VB or phased out as legacy apps (in the case of VFP).

All I see in the paper for web development positions are listings for Java, C++ and Oracle developers with a few VB.

What a confusing time for a programmer!
