Topic: Visual Basic For Foxheads Part I -- NNJ Foxuser Team



The NNJ Foxuser team is back. Last year's HTML in 1 Night was a big success. This year it's Learn VB in 2 Nights. The first session will deal with VB basics: Controls & properties, basic VB code, looping & If statements, menus & printing. For part II Leslie Koorhan will talk about data.


VB is becoming a necessary evil for Foxheads. This is an excellent opportunity to see what the other side is doing and learn the similarities between VB & VFP.


The talks will obviously be geared to Fox people.






A word about our meeting place.

While the management at Pizzeria Uno has been most cooperative in trying to accommodate us and make us feel at home, the restaurant is unfortunately not the most conducive place for our meetings. Our old meeting place, The Ground Round, now the Tin Alley Grill has undergone renovations and currently does not have seating for us. While it may in the future, we cannot count on it.


If anyone knows of a suitable alternative, please let me know. I have been looking for places that meet the following criteria.


1. In the same area that we are meeting in now.
2. A restaurant with similar pricing to the Ground Round & Pizzeria Uno.
3. A separate room or private area.
4. Must be able to accommodate up to 25 people.


Please take the time to check out any places that you wish to recommend. Also, I would be interested in hearing your ideas. For example, what about a restaurant with a $20 fixed price? Is that too much? Do you agree that a restaurant makes for an ideal meeting place?

Pizzeria Uno is located about 1/2 mile WEST of Hackensack Ave on Route 4 on the WESTBOUND side. (The Ground Round was located on Hackensack Ave and Route 4.)


As you travel on Route 4 West, you will pass a Dodge dealership then a
Lenscrafters. The restaurant is in the far end of the same building as the Lenscrafters.


If you are travelling Eastbound on Route 4, make a U-turn at Hackensack Ave. Exit at Hackensack Ave North then stay on your right to get onto Route 4 West.


NOTE: As we are not charged for using the restaurant as our meeting place, it would be nice if as many of us as possible actually ate there. So eat drink and be merry at Pizzeria Uno.
